26th March 2011, London:
Hundreds of thousands of people join the Trades Union Congress (TUC) march against the cuts in London.
Protest turned violent with some protesters smashing banks, shops and the Ritz hotel. There have been 202 arrests and 35 people injured, including 5 police officers.

I have to say that this is a stunning picture. The dark images of the police against the fire really helps the people who were not present on the day, understand what was happening.

I truly believe that this picture really makes you realise the true extent of what people are feeling at the moment, during a recession, which does not seem to be any further forward, than when it was announced 2 years ago. There seems to be a general feeling that all public sector workers are getting a raw deal, but it is everyone in general that is suffering, and while all the poorer are getting poorer, the rich and the people who have got us into this mess seem to be living a great lifestyle. There will more of the above scenes to come if things aren’t sorted out soon.

As photographer myself, I can really appreciate the picture above, this has been taken by someone who is not only professional but someone who really knows there profession and what people are looking for when it comes to photography.
